Sludge Elbows

Problem

The three PFT tank sludge elbows were very corroded and beginning to leak and would be replaced when plant could be shut down. As a temporary measure they required coating with Belzona to prevent leakage.

Solution

• The elbows were carefully hand prepared as they could not withstand blast cleaning
• Belzona Super Metal Engineering grade repair system was applied in conjunction with reinforcing fabric
  

Summary

• The integrity of the elbows has been reinstated
